Reminder Systems (MICU, Rear MICU, and Gauge Control Module) Input Test (2017 2018 2019 2020)
NOTE:
- Before testing, troubleshoot the multiplex integrated control unit first, using B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A - Refer to: Body Electrical Troubleshooting - B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A - Initial Communication and DTC Checks (2017 2018 2019 2020)
- Before testing, do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function - Refer to: Gauges Self-Diagnostic Function (2017 2018 2019 2020) to make sure the beeper and the indicators in the gauge control module work properly and the F-CAN line are OK.
- Before testing, make sure the No. C16 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box is OK.
- Without auto idle stop system: Before testing, make sure the No. D11 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box is OK.
- With auto idle stop system: Before testing, make sure the No. D24 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, and No. H7 (10 A) fuse in the auxiliary driver's under-dash fuse/relay box are OK.
MICU
1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
2. Disconnect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connectors.
Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector E (44P) (female terminals):
Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector G (16P) (female terminals):
Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector H (13P) (female terminals):
Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (24P) (female terminals):
Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector Q (20P) (female terminals):
3. Inspect the connectors and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:
- If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals are OK, go to step 4.
4. Reconnect the connectors to the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, and do the following input tests:
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 9.

Rear MICU
5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
6. Disconnect rear fuse/relay box connectors.
Rear fuse/relay box connector A (49P) (female terminals):
Rear fuse/relay box connector B (36P) (female terminals):
7. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
- If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary and recheck the system.
- If the terminals look OK, go to step 8.
8. With the connectors still disconnected, do the following input tests:
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 10.

Gauge Control Module
9. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
10. Disconnect the gauge control module connector A (32P).

11. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:
- If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
- If the terminals are OK, go to step 12.
12. Reconnect the connector, and do the following input tests:
- If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
- If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 13.

13. If multiple failures are found on more than one control unit, replace the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box - Refer to: Driver's Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box Removal and Installation, and/or rear fuse/relay box (includes the MICU) . If input failures are related to a particular control unit, replace the gauge control module .
