DTC B00DF-13 : Open in the Front Passenger's Airbag ON/OFF Switch
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, find out if the vehicle was in a collision. If so, verify that all the required components were replaced with new components of the correct part number and were properly installed .
- Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures , General Troubleshooting Information , and 12 Volt Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection .

DTC (SRS)
- Problem verification
-1. Apply the parking brake.
-2. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.
-4. Push and release the front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 5 times repeatedly.
-5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B00DF-13 Open in the front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch Is DTC B00DF-13 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.
- Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connector.
Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness) -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Front Passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected Test point 1 Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector (male terminals) No. 1: Test point 2 Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector (male terminals) No. 4: Position Resistance ON 3.11-3.80 kΩ OFF 0.68-0.83 kΩ Is the resistance as specified?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Faulty front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch or poor connection at front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector and the front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch. Check the connection; if the connection is OK, Front Passenger's Airbag ON/OFF Switch Removal and Installation , then clear the DTC.
- Shorted wire check (ACS, GND lines to power)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected Test point 1 Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector (female terminals) No. 1 (on the dashboard wire harness): Test point 2 Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector (female terminals) No. 4 (on the dashboard wire harness): Is there 0.2 V or less?
YES
The ACS and GND wires are not shorted to power. Go to step 4.
NO
Short to power in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.
- Open wire check (ACS line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.
-3. Disconnect the following connector.
SRS unit connector A (43P) -4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected SRS unit connector A (43P): disconnected Test point 1 SRS unit connector A (43P) No. 22 Test point 2 Passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector (female terminals) No. 4 (on the dashboard wire harness): Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
The ACS wire is OK. Go to step 5.
NO
Open or increased resistance in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.
- Open wire check (GND line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected SRS unit connector A (43P): disconnected Test point 1 Front passenger's airbag ON/OFF switch 4P connector (female terminals) No. 1 (on the dashboard wire harness): Test point 2 Body ground Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
The GND wire is OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or replace the SRS unit .
NO
Open or increased resistance in the dashboard wire harness; check for a poor ground at G503. If the ground is OK, replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.
