Power Mirrors (Front Passenger's Power Window Switch)

NOTE:
  • Before testing, make sure the No. B44 (20 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box is OK.
  • Before testing, check for DTCs. If any DTCs are indicated, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

2. Disconnect the front passenger's power window switch 37P connector .

3. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:

4. With the connector still disconnected, do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained

Connect terminals No. 4 and No. 12 (or No. 11), and terminals No. 11 (or No. 12) and No. 3 with jumper wires. Check the right power mirror operation:
The right power mirror should move LEFT (or RIGHT).
  • Faulty right power mirror
  • Poor ground (G503) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire

RED.PUR Connect terminals No. 4 and No. 13 (or No. 12), and terminals No. 12 (or No. 13) and No. 3 with jumper wires. Check the right power mirror operation:
The right power mirror should move UP (or DOWN).
  • Faulty right power mirror
  • Poor ground (G503) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
15 GRY Connect terminals No. 4 and No. 15 with a jumper wire Check the right power mirror defogger operation:
The right power mirror defogger should work (the inside lower edge becomes warm).
  • Faulty right power mirror defogger
  • Poor ground (G506) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
34 RED Disconnect the power window master switch 37P connector and the moonroof control unit/motor 14P connector Check for continuity between terminal No. 34 and power window master switch 37P connector terminal No. 36:
There should be continuity.
An open in the LIN (P/W) wire
Check for continuity between terminal No. 34 and moonroof control unit/motor 14P connector terminal No. 12:
There should be continuity.
An open in the LIN (P/W) wire
Check for continuity to ground:
There should be no continuity.
A short to ground in the LIN (P/W) wire

5. Reconnect the connector, and do the following input tests:

NOTE: After replacing the front passenger's power window switch, do the resetting the power window control unit .
Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
4 GRN Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. B44 (20 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
3 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G503)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
