Audio unit power will not turn on (No information display)
NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first .
- Check if the Day/Night (
) button has been pressed, and turned off the display (see the Owner's Manual for more information).
- If the center display unit displays an error message when you turn on the audio system, follow the instructions .
- Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Check if audio information appears on the ODMD (TM) (touch screen).
Is the audio information displayed on the ODMD (TM) (touch screen)?
YES
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
NO
The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
- Determine possible failure area (audio unit power and ground circuit, others)
-1. Check if any information appears on the center display.
Is there any information displayed on the center display?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Go to step 4.
- ODMD (TM) check:-1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Substitute a known-good ODMD(TM) panel , and recheck.
Does the symptom go away?
YES
Replace the original ODMD (TM) panel.
NO
- Fuse check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Check the following fuses.
Fuse No. A29 Fuse No. B10 Fuse No. B19 Are the fuses OK?
YES
Go to step 5.
NO
Replace the fuse(s), and recheck. If the fuse(s) blows again, check for a short in the No. A29 fuse (also check the GA+B line) and/or the No. B10 fuse and/or the No. B19 fuse circuits.
- Open wire check (+B BACK UP line)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
NOTE: Eject the disc before disconnecting the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD player's load mechanism.
Audio unit connector A (24P) -2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio unit connector A (24P): disconnected Test circuit +B BACK UP Test point 1 Audio unit connector A (24P) No. 3 (GRN) Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
The +B BACK UP wire is OK. Go to step 6.
NO
Repair an open in the wire.
- Open wire check (+B AUDIO(ODMD) line)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Audio unit connector F (18P) -2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio unit connector A (24P): disconnected Audio unit connector F (18P): disconnected Test circuit +B AUDIO(ODMD) Test point 1 Audio unit connector F (18P) No. 3 (BLU) Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
The +B AUDIO(ODMD) wire is OK. Go to step 7.
NO
Repair an open in the wire.
- Open wire check (ACC/RR CAMERA ACC DIODE line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Audio unit connector A (24P): disconnected Audio unit connector F (18P): disconnected Test circuit ACC/RR CAMERA ACC DIODE Test point 1 Audio unit connector A (24P) No. 24 (YEL) Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
The ACC/RR CAMERA ACC DIODE wire is OK. Go to step 8.
NO
Repair an open in the wire.
- Open wire check (GND line) 1
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio unit connector A (24P): disconnected Audio unit connector F (18P): disconnected Test circuit GND Test point 1 Audio unit connector A (24P) No. 1 (BLK) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
The GND wire is OK. Go to step 9.
NO
Repair an open in the wire or poor ground (G504).
- Open wire check (GND line) 2
-1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode Audio unit connector A (24P): disconnected Audio unit connector F (18P): disconnected Test circuit GND Test point 1 Audio unit connector F (18P) No. 1 (BLK) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
NO
Repair an open in the wire or poor ground (G502).
