Audio System Symptom Troubleshooting - Audio unit power will not turn on (No information display) (With Touch Screen) (2016 2017 2018)

Audio unit power will not turn on (No information display) 

NOTE: 

• Check the vehicle battery condition first .
• Check if the Day/Night ( ) button has been pressed, and turned off the display (see the Owner's Manual for more information).
• If the center display unit displays an error message when you turn on the audio system, follow the instructions .
• Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

1. Problem verification

   -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

   -2. Check if audio information appears on the ODMD (TM) (touch screen).

   Is the audio information displayed on the ODMD (TM) (touch screen)?

   YES 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

   NO 

   The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.

2. Determine possible failure area (audio unit power and ground circuit, others)

   -1. Check if any information appears on the center display.

   Is there any information displayed on the center display?

   YES 

   Go to step 3.

   NO 

   Go to step 4.

3. ODMD (TM) check (substitution):-1.

   Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -2. Substitute a known-good ODMD(TM) panel , and recheck.

   Does the symptom go away?

   YES 

   Replace the original ODMD (TM) panel.

   NO 

   Replace the audio unit .

4. Fuse check

   -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -2. Check the following fuses.

   Fuse	No. A29 (10 A)
   Location	Under-hood fuse/relay box

   Fuse	No. B10 (15 A)
   Location	Under-dash fuse/relay box

   Fuse	No. B19 (7.5 A)
   Location	Under-dash fuse/relay box

   Are the fuses OK?

   YES 

   Go to step 5.

   NO 

   Replace the fuse(s), and recheck. If the fuse(s) blows again, check for a short in the No. A29 (10 A) fuse (also check the GA+B line) and/or the No. B10 (15 A) fuse and/or the No. B19 (7.5 A) fuse circuits.

5. Open wire check (+B BACK UP line)

   -1. Disconnect the following connector.

   NOTE:  Eject the disc before disconnecting the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD player's load mechanism.

   Audio unit connector A (24P)

   -2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	OFF mode
   	Audio unit connector A (24P): disconnected
   Test circuit	+B BACK UP
   Test point 1	Audio unit connector A (24P) No. 3 (GRN)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there battery voltage?

   YES 

   The +B BACK UP wire is OK. Go to step 6.

   NO 

   Repair an open in the wire between the No. A29 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and the audio unit.

6. Open wire check (+B AUDIO(ODMD) line)

   -1. Disconnect the following connector.

   Audio unit connector F (18P)

   -2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	OFF mode
   	Audio unit connector A (24P): disconnected
   	Audio unit connector F (18P): disconnected
   Test circuit	+B AUDIO(ODMD)
   Test point 1	Audio unit connector F (18P) No. 3 (BLU)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there battery voltage?

   YES 

   The +B AUDIO(ODMD) wire is OK. Go to step 7.

   NO 

   Repair an open in the wire between the No. B10 (15 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and the audio unit.

7. Open wire check (ACC line)

   -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

   -2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	ON mode
   	Audio unit connector A (24P): disconnected
   	Audio unit connector F (18P): disconnected
   Test circuit	ACC
   Test point 1	Audio unit connector A (24P) No. 24 (PUR)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there battery voltage?

   YES 

   The ACC wire is OK. Go to step 8.

   NO 

   Repair an open in the wire between the No. B19 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and the audio unit.

8. Open wire check (GND line) 1

   -1. Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

   -2. Reconnect audio unit connector A (24P).

   -3. Reconnect audio unit connector F (18P).

   -4. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

   -5. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	ON mode
   Test circuit	GND
   Test point 1	Audio unit connector A (24P) No. 1 (BLK)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there less than 0.2 V?

   YES 

   The GND wire is OK. Go to step 9.

   NO 

   Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the audio unit and body ground (G504).

9. Open wire check (GND line) 2

   -1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	ON mode
   Test circuit	GND
   Test point 1	Audio unit connector F (18P) No. 1 (BLK)
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there less than 0.2 V?

   YES 

   Replace the audio unit .

   NO 

   Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the audio unit and body ground (G502).
