Hardware Failsafe
The control module of the CPU for the windshield wiper control unit/motor in case of an abnormality is as shown in the table.

Failsafe at the Time of a Wiper Switch Signal Abnormality
When the wiper switch signal from the MICU cannot be received normally by the B-CAN system, the control is as shown in the table.

Failsafe From Auto Mode
When the auto wiper signal from the automatic lighting/rain sensor cannot be received normally by the B-CAN system, due to an abnormality, the control is as shown in the table.

Thermal Protection Function
Also the intelligent controlled wiper system performs thermal protection control to prevent excess heat generation by the windshield wiper control unit/motor due to abnormal load. If the temperature of the windshield wiper control unit/motor exceeds the protective action temperature, the wiping speed is reduced, and is restored once the temperature falls below the reset action temperature.
