Wipers/Washers System Description - Components

MICU 

Switch signals are sent to the relay control module via the B-CAN by input from the wiper/washer switch.

Relay Control Module 

The washer switch signal from the MICU is received via the B-CAN and activates the washer motor relay for washer motor operation.

Automatic Lighting/Rain Sensor 

The auto wiper signal or the auto wiper fail signal is sent via the B-CAN to the windshield wiper control unit/motor.

Gauge Control Module 

The vehicle speed signal, the parking brake switch signal, and the ATP-P signal from the gauge control module are used for intermittent operation of the auto wiper failsafe function.

Wiper/Washer Switch 

The wiper/washer switch inputs the switch status to the MICU. As backup of the windshield wiper control unit/motor is performed via the MICU at the time of LO or HI switch operation, in case an abnormality of the wiper/washer switch or the input of the LO and HI line is detected by the B-CAN.
