DTC P0069

DTC P0069  : BARO Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem

NOTE: 

• Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems,  or How to Troubleshoot the Brake Booster Pressure Monitoring System (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020), or How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems(With Auto Idle Stop System) (2016),  or How to Troubleshoot the A/T System (2014 2015) .
• If DTC P0107, P0108, P2073, and/or P2074 are stored at the same time as DTC P0069, troubleshoot those DTCs first, then recheck for DTC P0069.

DTC (PGM-FI)

1. BARO Sensor performance check

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 2 seconds.

   - 2. Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.

   Signal	Threshold		Current conditions

   BARO SENSOR	About 101	kPa

   Do the current condition(s) match the threshold?

   YES 

   Go to step 2.

   NO 

   Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM - Refer to: PCM Removal and Installation (2014 2015), or PCM Removal and Installation (2016) .

2. Problem verification

   -1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

   - 2. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3, 000 rpm without load (in P or N) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle.

   - 3. Test-drive under these conditions:

   • Engine coolant temperature (ECT SENSOR 1) above 158 °F (70 °C)
   • Transmission in D
   • Throttle position between 13 and 26 degrees for at least 5 seconds

   - 4. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P0069 with the HDS.

   DTC Description	OBD STATUS
   P0069 BARO Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem

   Does the HDS indicate FAILED?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated. Go to step 3.

   NO 

   If the HDS indicates PASSED, intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the HDS indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 2-2 and recheck.

3. Intake air system check

   -1. Check the intake air system for clogging or restrictions (foreign material, dirty air cleaner element, etc.).

   Is the intake air system clogged or restricted?

   YES 

   Remove the clogging or restriction.

   NO 

   Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM - Refer to: PCM Removal and Installation (2014 2015), or PCM Removal and Installation (2016) .
