Front Accessory Power Socket Circuit Troubleshooting

Front Accessory Power Socket Circuit Troubleshooting 

  1. Problem verification

    - 1. Test the front accessory power socket.

    Does the front accessory power socket workΩ

    YES 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.

    NO 

    Go to step 2.

  2. Fuse check

    - 1. Check the following fuses.

    Fuse No. D13 (7. 5 A)
    Location Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
    Fuse No. E15 (20 A)
    Location Passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box

    Is each fuse OK?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Replace the fuse. If the fuse blows again, repair a short to ground in the No. D13 (7. 5 A), and/or No. E15 (20 A) fuse circuit(s).

  3. Front accessory power socket relay check

    - 1. Remove the front accessory power socket relay from the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box, and test it.

    Is the relay OK?

    YES 

    Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Replace the front accessory power socket relay, then recheck.

  4. Open wire check (+B AS/FB 2 line)

    - 1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode.
    Front accessory power socket relay: disconnected
    Test circuit +B AS/FB 2
    Test point 1 Passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box connector C (2P) No. 2 (WHT)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    Go to step 5.

    NO 

    Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.

  5. Open wire check (ACC FR SOCKET line)

    - 1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode.
    Front accessory power socket relay: disconnected
    Test circuit ACC FR SOCKET
    Test point 1 Front accessory power socket relay 4P socket No. 1
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    Go to step 6.

    NO 

    Replace the original passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box - Refer to: Passenger's Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box Removal and Installation .

  6. Determine possible failure area (front accessory power socket relay switch side circuit, front accessory power socket relay coil side circuit)

    - 1. Connect terminals A and B with a jumper wire.

    Terminal A Front accessory power socket relay 4P socket No. 1
    Terminal B Front accessory power socket relay 4P socket No. 2

    Does the front accessory power socket workΩ

    YES 

    Go to step 7.

    NO 

    Go to step 9.

  7. Open wire check (B ACC line)

    - 1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode.
    Front accessory power socket relay: disconnected.
    Front accessory power socket relay 4P socket No. 1 and No. 2: jumped
    Test circuit B ACC
    Test point 1 Passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box connector E (42P) No. 40 (PUR)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    Go to step 8.

    NO 

    Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.

  8. Open wire check (B ACC line)

    - 1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode.
    Front accessory power socket relay: disconnected
    Test circuit B ACC
    Test point 1 Front accessory power socket relay 4P socket No. 3
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    Repair an open or high resistance in the ground wire or poor ground (G507).

    NO 

    Replace the original passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box - Refer to: Passenger's Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box Removal and Installation .

  9. Open wire check (ACC 2 line)

    - 1. Remove the front accessory power socket.

    - 2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode.
    Front accessory power socket relay: disconnected.
    Front accessory power socket relay 4P socket No. 1 and No. 2: jumped
    Test circuit ACC 2
    Test point 1 Front accessory power socket 2P connector No. 2 (BRN)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    Go to step 10.

    NO 

    Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.

  10. Open wire check (PGND line)

    - 1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode.
    Front accessory power socket relay: disconnected.
    Front accessory power socket relay 4P socket No. 1 and No. 2: jumped
    Test circuit PGND
    Test point 1 Front accessory power socket 2P connector No. 1 (BLK)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Replace the front accessory power socket - Refer to: Front Accessory Power Socket Removal and Installation .

    NO 

    Repair an open or high resistance in the ground wire or poor ground (G506).
