12 Volt Battery System Description - Fail-safe Function

The battery fan control; information from the 12 volt battery sensor is sent via the LIN to gauge control module, from the gauge control module via the F-CAN will be sent to the PCM. The PCM controls the battery fan motor according to the information. When the PCM does not receive the information from the 12 volt battery sensor because of a failure of the 12 volt battery sensor, the gauge control module, the F-CAN, or the LIN, the PCM sends signal actuates of the battery fan motor if the MAF/IAT sensor signal indicates 35 °C (95 °F) or more.
