DTC B1C62  : Front passenger's heater current abnormal high

DTC Description DTC
B1C62 Front passenger's heater current abnormal high  

DTC (Front Seat Heater Control Unit)

NOTE:
  1. Problem verification

    -1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    - 2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode and then the ON mode.

    - 3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC
    B1C62 Front passenger's heater current abnormal high  

    Is DTC B1C62 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.

  2. DTC check 1

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    - 2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Front passenger's seat heater connector A (5P) - Refer to: Seat Heater Replacement (2017 2018 2019 2020), or Seat Heater Replacement (Seat Heaters), or Seat Heater Replacement - Ventilated Seats (Ventilated Seats)

    - 3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    - 4. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    - 5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC
    B1C62 Front passenger's heater current abnormal high  

    Is DTC B1C62 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Go to step 4.

  3. Short wire check (AS HEATER line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    - 2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Front seat heater control unit 14P connector

    - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode. Front seat heater control unit 14P connector: disconnected. Front passenger's seat heater connector A (5P): disconnected
    Test circuit AS HEATER
    Test point 1 Front seat heater control unit 14P connector No. 3 (LT BLU)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Repair a short in the wire.

    NO 

    Replace the front seat heater control unit .

  4. Short wire check (BACK HEAT line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    - 2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Front passenger's seat heater connector B (2P) - Refer to: Seat Heater Replacement (Seat Heaters), or Seat Heater Replacement - Ventilated Seats (Ventilated Seats), or Seat Heater Replacement (2017 2018 2019 2020)

    - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode. Front seat heater control unit 14P connector: disconnected. Front passenger's seat heater connector A (5P): disconnected. Front passenger's seat heater connector B (2P): disconnected
    Test circuit BACK HEAT
    Test point 1 Front passenger's seat heater connector A (5P) No. 5 (WHT)
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Repair a short in the wire.

    NO 

    Go to step 5.

  5. DTC check 2

    -1. Reconnect the following connector.

    Front passenger's seat heater connector A (5P) - Refer to: Seat Heater Replacement (Seat Heaters), or Seat Heater Replacement - Ventilated Seats (Ventilated Seats), or Seat Heater Replacement (2017 2018 2019 2020)

    - 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    - 3. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    - 4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC
    B1C62 Front passenger's heater current abnormal high  

    Is DTC B1C62 indicated?

    YES 

    Replace the front passenger's seat cushion heater - Refer to: Seat Heater Replacement (Seat Heaters), or Seat Heater Replacement - Ventilated Seats (Ventilated Seats), or Seat Heater Replacement (2017 2018 2019 2020) .

    NO 

    Replace the front passenger's seat-back heater - Refer to: Seat Heater Replacement (Seat Heaters), or Seat Heater Replacement - Ventilated Seats (Ventilated Seats), or Seat Heater Replacement (2017 2018 2019 2020) .
