Turn Signal/Hazard Warning Lights (MICU) Input Test (2017 2018 2019 2020)

NOTE: 

1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

2. Disconnect driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connectors.

Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector E (44P) (female terminals):  Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector F (32P) (female terminals): Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector G (16P) (female terminals): Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector H (13P) (female terminals): Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector K (8P) (female terminals): Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector M (8P) (female terminals): Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (24P) (female terminals): Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector Q (20P) (female terminals):

3. Inspect the connectors and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:

4. With the connectors still disconnected, do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired results not obtained
F8 BLU Connect terminals F8 and F11 with a jumper wire Check the turn signal lights operation:
The left front turn signal light should come on.
  • Blown bulb
  • Poor ground (G201) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
F12 WHT Connect terminals F12 and F11 with a jumper wire Check the turn signal lights operation:
The right front turn signal light should come on.
  • Blown bulb
  • Poor ground (G202) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
E10 BLU Connect terminals E10 and F11 with a jumper wire Check the turn signal lights operation:
The left rear turn signal light should come on.
  • Blown bulb
  • Poor ground (G606) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
E11 GRN/WHT Connect terminals E11 and F11 with a jumper wire Check the turn signal lights operation:
The right rear turn signal light should come on.
  • Blown bulb
  • Poor ground (G605) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
M2 BLU Connect terminals M2 and F11 with a jumper wire Check the turn signal lights operation:
The left side turn signal light and left turn signal indicator should come on.
  • Faulty LED
  • Faulty gauge control module
  • Poor ground (G501) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
M5 WHT Connect terminals M5 and F11 with a jumper wire Check the turn signal lights operation:
The right side turn signal light and right turn signal indicator should come on.
  • Faulty LED
  • Faulty gauge control module
  • Poor ground (G507) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire

5. Reconnect the connectors to the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired results not obtained
G16 GRN Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. C16 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire

F11 WHT Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. B2-6 (30 A) fuse in the main under-hood fuse box
  • Blown No. B9 (10 A) fuse in the main under-hood fuse box
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
G6 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G506)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
H1 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G502)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
P2 BRN In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G501)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
K5 WHT Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Blown No. B2-6 (30 A) fuse in the main under-hood fuse box
  • Blown No. B9 (10 A) fuse in the main under-hood fuse box
  • Faulty driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
Q11 GRN Hazard warning switch pressed Measure the voltage to ground:
There should be battery voltage.
  • Faulty hazard warning switch
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
P23P13 LT GRNBLK Turn signal switch in left position Measure the voltage between terminals P23 and P13:There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Faulty turn signal switch
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
Turn signal switch in right or neutral position Measure the voltage between terminals P23 and P13:There should be about 5 V.
  • Faulty turn signal switch
  • A short to ground in the wire
P22P13 REDBLK Turn signal switch in right position Measure the voltage between terminals P22 and P13:There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Faulty turn signal switch
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
Turn signal switch in left or neutral position Measure the voltage between terminals P22 and P13:There should be about 5 V.
  • Faulty turn signal switch
  • A short to ground in the wire
