LED headlight does not come on
- DTC check 1
- 1. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC).
- 2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B1081 B1082 B1083 B1084 DTC (Relay Control Module)
DTC B1081, B1082, B1083, and/or B1084 indicated?
YES
Do the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.
NO
Go to step 2.
- Combination light switch HEADLIGHT position check
- 1. Turn the combination light switch ON.
- 2. Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.
Signal Threshold Current conditions Values Unit Values Unit Headlight Switch (HEADLIGHT) ON Is data list values correct?
YES
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
NO
Go to step 3.
- Combination light switch check
- 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
- 2. Do the combination light switch test.
Is the switch OK?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Replace the combination light switch - Refer to: Combination Light Switch Removal, Installation, and Test (2014 2015), or Combination Light Switch Removal, Installation, and Test (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020) .
- Open wire check (H/L ON SW line) 1
- 1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Combination light switch 12P connector: disconnectedTest circuit H/L ON SW Test point 1 Combination light switch 12P connector No. 7 (BRN) Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
Go to step 5.
NO
Go to step 6.
- Open wire check (PGND line)
- 1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Combination light switch 12P connector: disconnectedTest circuit PGND Test point 1 Combination light switch 12P connector No. 6 (BLK) Test point 2 Body ground Is there continuity?
YES
The PGND wire is OK. Faulty combination light switch; do the combination light switch test - Refer to: Combination Light Switch Removal, Installation, and Test (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020), or Combination Light Switch Removal, Installation, and Test (2014 2015) .
NO
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
- Open wire check (H/L ON SW line) 2
- 1. Disconnect the following connector.
Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (24P) - Refer to: Driver's Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box Removal and Installation . - 2. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Combination light switch 12P connector: disconnected
Under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (24P): disconnectedTest circuit H/L ON SW Test point 1 Driver's under-dash fuse/relay box connector P (24P) No. 15 (BRN) Test point 2 Combination light switch 12P connector No. 7 (BRN) Is there continuity?
YES
The H/L ON SW wire is OK. Faulty MICU; replace the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box - Refer to: Driver's Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box Removal and Installation .
NO
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
