DTC U0155-00  : Lost Communication With the Gauge Control Module

NOTE: 

• Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review General Troubleshooting Information .
• Before replacing the E-pretensioner unit, check the E-pretensioner unit software version with the HDS. If the software version is not the latest, update the E-pretensioner unit software , and retest.
• When you troubleshoot the E-pretensioner unit, check the indicated side of E-pretensioner unit on the HDS.

DTC (E-pretensioner)

1. Problem verification

   - 1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

   - 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   - 3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

   Is DTC U0155-00 indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

2. Open wire check (F-CAN_H line)

   - 1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   - 2. Disconnect the following connectors.

   Driver's E-pretensioner unit 16P connector

   Front passenger's E-pretensioner unit 14P connector

   Gauge control module connector A (32P)

   - 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Driver's E-pretensioner unit 16P connector: disconnected
   	Front passenger's E-pretensioner unit 14P connector: disconnected
   	Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
   Test circuit	F-CAN_H
   Test point 1 *1	Driver's E-pretensioner unit 16P connector No. 12 (WHT)
   Test point 2 *1	Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 27 (WHT)
   Test point 1 *2	Front passenger's E-pretensioner unit 14P connector No. 10 (WHT)
   Test point 2 *2	Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 27 (WHT)
   *1: Driver's E-pretensioner unit
   *2: Front passenger's E-pretensioner unit

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   Go to step 3.

   NO 

   Repair an open in the wire between the driver's E-pretensioner unit or the front passenger's E-pretensioner unit, and the gauge control module.

3. Open wire check (F-CAN_L line)

   - 1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Driver's E-pretensioner unit 16P connector: disconnected
   	Front passenger's E-pretensioner unit 14P connector: disconnected
   	Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
   Test circuit	F-CAN_L
   Test point 1 *1	Driver's E-pretensioner unit 16P connector No. 13 (BRN)
   Test point 2 *1	Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 28 (BLK)
   Test point 1 *2	Front passenger's E-pretensioner unit 14P connector No. 11 (BRN)
   Test point 2 *2	Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 28 (BLK)
   *1: Driver's E-pretensioner unit
   *2: Front passenger's E-pretensioner unit

   Is there continuity?

   YES 

   The F-CAN_L wire is OK. Replace the gauge control module .

   NO 

   Repair an open in the wire between the driver's E-pretensioner unit or the front passenger's E-pretensioner unit, and the gauge control module.
