DTC B00D5-14 (2014 2015 2016)

DTC B00D5-14  : Open or Short to Ground in the Front Passenger's Airbag Cutoff Indicator

NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, find out if the vehicle was in a collision. If so, verify that all the required components were replaced with new components of the correct part number, and that they were properly installed .
• Before doing this troubleshooting procedure, review SRS Precautions and Procedures , General Troubleshooting Information , and Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection - Refer to: Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020) or Battery Terminal Disconnection and Reconnection (2014 2015) .
• If there are other SRS DTCs stored with B00D5-14; troubleshoot them first.
• Before replacing the SRS unit, check the SRS unit software version with the HDS. If the software version is not the latest, update the SRS unit software , and retest.

DTC (SRS)

1. Problem verification

   -1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

   - 2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.

   - 3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

   DTC Description	DTC
   B00D5-14 Open or short to ground in the front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator

   Is DTC B00D5-14 indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures . If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.

2. Open wire check (SRS OFF PTT line)

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

   - 2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.

   - 3. Disconnect the following connectors.

   Front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness)

   SRS unit connector A (39P) - Refer to: SRS Unit Removal and Installation

   - 4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
   	Front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected
   	SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected
   Test circuit	SRS OFF PTT
   Test point 1	SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 17
   Test point 2	Front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector No. 4 (BLU) (on the dashboard wire harness)

   Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

   YES 

   The SRS OFF PTT wire is not open. Go to step 3.

   NO 

   Open in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.

3. Shorted wire check (SRS OFF PTT line)

   -1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

   Test condition	Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
   	Front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected
   	SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected
   Test circuit	SRS OFF PTT

   Test point 1	SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 17
   Test point 2	Body ground

   Is there an open circuit, or at least 1 MΩ?

   YES 

   The SRS OFF PTT wire is OK. Replace the front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator , then clear the DTC, and retest. If the DTC is still present, replace the SRS unit - Refer to: SRS Unit Removal and Installation .

   NO 

   Short to ground in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.
