DTC U128F: Gauge Control Module Lost Communication with BSI Control Unit (BSI Message)
NOTE:
If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A
TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A

- Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
- Wait for at least 6 seconds.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U128F indicated?
YES -Go to step 5.
NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the BSI control unit and the gauge control module.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Are DTCs B1155, B1156, B1157, B1158, B1159, B1162, B1180, and/or B1182 also indicated?
YES -Do the gauge control module input test
NO -Substitute a known-good BSI control unit BSI CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ), and recheck. If the indication goes away, replace the original BSI control unit BSI CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
