DTC B1162: Gauge Control Module Lost Communication with Power Tailgate Control Unit (PTG Message)
NOTE:
If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A

- Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and then back to ON (II).
- Wait for at least 6 seconds.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B1162 indicated?
YES -Go to step 5.
NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections between the power tailgate control unit and the gauge control module.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Are DTCs B1155, B1156, B1157, B1158, B1159, B1180, B1182, and/or U128F also indicated?
YES -Do the gauge control module input test
NO -Do the power tailgate control unit input test CONTROL UNIT INPUT TEST/REPLACEMENT ).
