DTC B18CF: Right BSI Alert Indicator Output Error
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS (see General Troubleshooting Information ).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), then wait for 10 seconds.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS (see General Troubleshooting Information
).
Is DTC B18CF indicated?
YES -Go to step 4.
NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Disconnect the right BSI alert indicator 2P connector.
- Measure the resistance between right BSI alert indicator 2P connector terminal No. 1 and body ground. There should be less than 1.0 Ω.Fig 1: Measuring Resistance Between Right BSI Alert Indicator 2P Connector Terminal No. 1 And Body Ground

Does the voltage remain between 12 V and 1 V for 3 seconds after turning the ignition switch to ON (II), then go down to 0 V?
YES -Replace the right BSI alert indicator
NO -Go to step 8.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Disconnect the BSI control unit 16P connector.
- Measure the resistance between right BSI alert indicator 2P connector terminal No. 2 and body ground. There should be an open circuit or at least 1 MΩ.Fig 3: Measuring Resistance Between Right BSI Alert Indicator 2P Connector Terminal No. 2 And Body Ground
