Glove Box Removal/Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ) and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or service.

NOTE: Take care not to scratch the dashboard or the related parts.
  1. Remove the passenger's dashboard trim (see PASSENGER'S DASHBOARD TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION  ).
  2. Remove the passenger's dashboard side panel (A).
    1. Open the front door.
    2. Gently pry the notch (B) of the panel with the appropriate trim tool to detach the clips.

  3. Remove the bolts (A) and the screws (B).

  4. Remove the glove box (A).
    1. Release the hook (B) and pull the glove box by hand to detach the clip.
    2. While holding the glove box, disconnect the glove box light bulb (C) and the keyless access system mode switch connector (D) (if equipped).

  5. Install the glove box in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • If the clip is damaged or stress-whitened, replace it with a new one.
    • Make sure each connector is plugged in properly.
    • Push the clip and the hook into place securely.
