Check the Compass Calibration

Although the compass is self calibrating, it may need to be manually calibrated after exposure to a strong magnetic field If the compass is blinking and CAL is shown on the display, do this to calibrate the compass

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II)
2. Press and hold the SET UP button (A) for about 5 seconds until you hear a beep The display shows you the compass setting menu items

3. Turn the selector knob (B) to select CALIBRATION, then press the knob
4. When the display shows PUSH CAL START, press the selector knob (A) The compass display blinks and the CAL indicator comes on

5. Drive the vehicle slowly in two complete circles When the calibration is successfully completed, the compass display stops blinking and the CAL indicator goes off
   NOTE:

   • When you are in the setting mode, pressing the RETURN button (B) returns to the previous display Pressing the SET UP button (C) cancels the compass setting mode
   • The audio system is not related to the compass system Even if the compass system is calibrating, the display returns to the normal display which you selected last
   • Do this procedure in an-open area, away from buildings, power lines, and other vehicles
