Trunk / Liftgate Switch: Service and Repair

Tailgate Outer Handle Switch Test/Replacement

1. Open the tailgate.

2. Remove the tailgate lower trim panel .

3. Remove the rear license trim Service and Repair.

4. Disconnect the 3P connector (A) and remove the two bolts.





5. Check for continuity between the terminals.

- There should be continuity between terminals No. 2 and No. 3 when the switch is pressed.
- There should be no continuity between terminals No. 2 and No. 3 when the switch is released.

6. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the tailgate outer handle switch.
