Symptom Troubleshooting: Low tire pressure indicator does not go off, and no DTCs are stored

Low tire pressure indicator does not go off, and no DTCs are stored ('08-09 models)

NOTE: If the low tire pressure indicator is turned on at the same time as the TPMS indicator, go to: troubleshoot the TPMS indicator does not go off, and no DTCs are stored in the TPMS symptom troubleshooting TPMS Indicator Does Not Go Off, and No DTCs are Stored first.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

2. Check the low tire pressure indicator for several seconds when the ignition switch is turned to ON (II).

Did the indicator come on and then blink for about 75 seconds?
YES - Check for gauge DTCs with the HDS Diagnostic Aids and go to the indicated gauge DTC's troubleshooting.

NO - Go to step 3


3. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

4. Disconnect the TPMS control unit 20P connector.

5. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).

6. Check the low tire pressure indicator for several seconds when the ignition switch is turned to ON (II).

Did the indicator come on and then blink for about 75 seconds?
YES - Replace the TPMS control unit. Service and Repair

NO - Do the troubleshooting for the gauge control module. Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes If necessary, substitute a known-good gauge control module Service and Repair, and recheck.
