Intermediate Shaft Removal

Drain the transmission fluid. Reinstall the drain plug with a new washer:
- 5-speed manual transmission (see TRANSMISSION FLUID INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT )
- 6-speed manual transmission (see TRANSMISSION FLUID INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT )
- Automatic transmission (see ATF REPLACEMENT )
Remove the right driveshaft (see DRIVESHAFT REMOVAL ).
Remove the heat cover.

Remove the flange bolt (A) and two shoulder bolts (B).

Remove the intermediate shaft (A) from the differential. Hold the intermediate shaft horizontal until it is clear of the differential to prevent damaging the differential oil seal (B).
