DTC B1175: Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Circuit Open ('05-08 models)
- Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then back ON (II).
- Wait for 30 seconds.
- Check for DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC B1175 indicated?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - Intermittent failure, the fuel gauge sending unit circuit is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit 5P connector.
- Disconnect gauge control module connector B (18P) and check for loose or bent terminals.
- Reconnect the connectors.
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Measure the voltage between gauge control module connector B (18P) terminal No. 16 and fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit 5P connector terminal No. 2, and gauge control module connector B (18P) terminal No. 17 and fuel pump/ fuel gauge sending unit 5P connector terminal No. 1.Fig 1: Measuring Voltage Between Gauge Control Module And Fuel Pump/Fuel Gauge Sending Unit 5P Connector Terminal

Is there less than 0.5 V?
YES - Go to step 11.
NO - Repair an open or high resistance in the YEL/ BLK or BLK/WHT wires.
- Do the fuel gauge sending unit test (see
FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT TEST
).
Is the fuel gauge sending unit OK?
YES - Replace the gauge control module.
NO - Replace the fuel gauge sending unit.
