XM radio display is blank and no station information is displayed

NOTE: Check the vehicle battery condition first.

Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 1 and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?

YES - Go to step 3.

NO - Repair open in the wire between audio unit connector B (14P) terminal No. 7 ('05 model) or No. 1 ('06-08 models) terminal and XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 1.
Measure the voltage between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 11 and body ground.

Is there less than 0.1V?

YES - Go to step 4.

NO - Repair open in the wire between XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 11 and audio unit connector B (14P) terminal No. 11.
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
Measure the voltage between audio unit connector B (14P) terminal No. 2 and body ground.

Is there 10 V or more present?

YES - Go to step 6.

NO - Substitute a known-good XM receiver and recheck. If 10 V or more are present, replace the original XM receiver.
Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
Measure the voltage between audio unit connector B (14P) terminal No. 2 and body ground.

Is there less than 0.5 V?

YES - Go to step 8.

NO - Substitute a known-good audio unit and recheck. If 0.5 V or less are present, replace the original audio unit.
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
Remove the audio-HVAC display module (see AUDIO-HVAC DISPLAY MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ), and disconnect audio unit connector A (14P).
NOTE: Eject all the discs before removing the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD player's load mechanism.
Disconnect the XM receiver connector A (14P) and the display unit connector (20P).

Check for continuity between XM receiver connector A (14P) and body ground according to the table. Then check for continuity between the same terminals listed in the table and XM receiver connector A (14P) terminal No. 3 (the harness shield).

Is there continuity?

YES - Short in the wire(s) between the audio unit, XM receiver and display unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.

NO - Go to step 12.

Check for continuity between XM receiver connector A (14P) and audio unit connector B (14P) according to the table.

Is there continuity?

YES - Go to step 13.

NO - Open in the wire(s) between audio unit and XM receiver. Replace the affected shielded harness.

Check for continuity between XM receiver connector A (14P) and display unit 20P connector according to the table.

Is there continuity?

YES - Substitute a known-good XM receiver, then reconnect all connectors and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original XM receiver. If the symptom/indication is still present, replace the audio unit.

NO - Open the wire(s) between XM receiver and display unit. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the XM receiver and display unit. If the connections are OK, replace the affected shielded harness.
