DTC P0134: Right Primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Right Primary Ho2S) Heater System Malfunction Or DTC P0154: Left Primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Left Primary Ho2S) Heater System Malfunction (2004 3.5RL)

  1. Perform PCM reset procedure. See PCM RESET PROCEDURE/CLEARING CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Start engine. Hold engine speed at 3000 RPM with no load and transmission in Park or Neutral until radiator fan comes on. If DTC P0134 and/or P0154 reset, go to next step. If DTC P0134 and/or P0154 do not reset, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at connectors C251 and C254 (located at right shock tower), right primary HO2S (bank 1 - sensor 1), or left primary HO2S (bank 2 - sensor 1) for DTC P0154 and PCM. See appropriate wiring diagram under ENGINE PERFORMANCE in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS. Repair as necessary.
  2. Turn ignition switch off. Disconnect 4-pin connector from right primary HO2S (bank 1 - sensor 1) for DTC P0134 or left primary HO2S (bank 2 - sensor 1) for DTC P0154. Install a fused jumper wire on harness side of suspect HO2S 4-pin connector terminals No. 1 (White wire on right primary HO2S sensor and Blue/Red on left primary HO2S) and No. 2 (Green/Blue wire). See Figure . Turn ignition switch ON (II). Using HDS (Honda Diagnostic System) or scan tool, read primary HO2S output voltage. If primary HO2S output voltage is 1.5 volt or more, go to next step. If suspect HO2S output voltage is not 1.5 volt or more, replace suspect HO2S.
  3. Turn ignition switch off. Install a fused jumper wire on PCM 22-pin connector D between terminals No. 18 (Blue/Red wire for left primary HO2S) or No. 19 (White wire for right primary HO2S) and No. 22 (Green/Black wire). See Figure . Turn ignition switch ON (II). Using HDS (Honda Diagnostic System) or scan tool, read primary HO2S output voltage. If primary HO2S output voltage is 1.5 volt or more, substitute a known-good PCM, and recheck. If symptom or indication goes away, replace original PCM. If suspect HO2S output voltage is not 1.5 volt or more, repair open in Blue/Red wire (left primary HO2S) or White wire (right primary HO2S) between PCM 22-pin connector D and suspect primary HO2S.
