Possible Causes
PCM sets DTC P0300 and a specific cylinder code (DTC P1201-1206 or P1301-1306) when a random misfire has been detected. Possible causes of a random misfire are:
- Insufficient flow or pressure from fuel pump
- Blocked, clogged or leaking fuel feed line
- Clogged fuel filter
- Fuel pressure regulator stuck open
- EGR System malfunction
- Ignition coil wire open, leakage
- Ignition control module malfunction
- IAC Valve malfunction
- Fast idle thermo valve malfunction
- Carbon deposits on valves
- Low engine compression
- Gasoline that does not meet Owner's Manual specification
