Removal & Installation (Passenger-side)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable passenger-side air bag. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove harness clamp. See Figure. Remove air bag mounting nuts from bracket. Carefully lift air bag assembly out of dashboard.
    NOTE: Air bag assembly lid is attached to dashboard with side pawls. To remove air bag assembly, cover lid and dashboard with a cloth, and pry carefully with a screwdriver.
  2. To install, position air bag assembly in dashboard. Tighten air bag mounting nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install harness clamp. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
