Activating Air Bag System (Aerio)

  1. Confirm that negative battery cable is disconnected. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position and remove ignition key. Connect driver's side Yellow connector of air bag contact coil and combination switch assembly by pushing connector in until a click is heard. Connect passenger's side Yellow connector of passenger's air bag module by pushing connector in until a click is heard. Ensure all other air bag components are properly installed and connected.
  2. CAUTION: When turning ignition switch to ON position stay as far away from air bag deployment travel as possible.
  3. Install glove box. Install AIR BAG fuse in fuse box. See Figure. Connect negative battery cable. Turn ignition switch to ON position and verify that AIR BAG warning lamp flashes 6 times and then turns OFF. If it does not operate as described, perform Air Bag Diagnostic System Check.
