DTC P1773/23: A/T Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Valve "B"

NOTE: For circuit reference, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION , PIN VOLTAGE TESTS and WIRING DIAGRAMS .

Using scan tool, retrieve A/T freeze data. Clear DTCs and road test vehicle under same conditions freeze data was recorded. If DTC returns, go to next step. If DTC does not return, problem is intermittent. Check transaxle and PCM connections.
Disconnect A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve "B" harness connector. See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance between terminals of A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve "B". If resistance is 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 5 ohms, replace A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve "A"/"B" assembly. Disconnect PCM harness connector "B". Check for continuity between ground and terminals No. 18 and 25 on PCM harness connector "B". See Figure. If continuity is not present for both circuits, go to next step. If continuity is present on either circuit, repair short to ground in appropriate circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
Connect A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve "B" harness connector. Measure resistance between terminals No. 18 and 25 on PCM harness connector "B". If resistance is 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 5 ohms, repair open or poor connection in Brown/White wire or Green wire between A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve "B" and PCM harness connector "B".
Disconnect PCM harness connector "D". Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between terminal No. 5 on PCM harness connector "D" and terminal No. 20 or 22 on PCM harness connector "B". If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check for blown fuse No. 6 (15-amp) in underdash fuse/relay box. If fuse is okay, repair open between ignition switch and fuse/relay box. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
Turn ignition off. Check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 20 or 22 on PCM harness connector "B". If continuity is not present, repair open in Brown/Yellow wires. If continuity is present, check for loose PCM harness connectors. Replace PCM with a known-good unit if necessary.
