Gauge Method Inspection

  1. Attach Belt Tension Gauge Set (07JGG-001000A or 07JGG-001010A) to belt with the gauge facing toward the engine, and measure the tension of the belt. Follow the manufacturer's instructions. If the belt is worn or damaged, replace it.
    NOTE: Remove the belt tension gauge carefully to avoid hitting the gauge reset lever.

    1. Used Belt Tension Standard

      88-121 Ft. Lbs. (390-540 N.m)
    2. New Belt Tension Standard

      165-198 Ft. Lbs. (740-880 N.m)
  2. If you installed a new belt, run the engine for 5 minutes, then readjust the belt to the used belt specifications.
