DTC P1361: Top Dead Center Sensor No. 1 Intermittent Interruption, DTC P1362: Top Dead Center Sensor No. 1 No Signal, DTC P1366: Top Dead Center Sensor No. 2 Intermittent Interruption Or DTC P1367: Top Dead Center Sensor No. 2 No Signal

  1. Perform PCM reset procedure. See PCM RESET PROCEDURE/CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Start engine. If DTC P1361, P1362, P1366 or P1367 is set, go to next step. If DTCs P1361, P1362, P1366 and P1367 are not set, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. Check for poor connection(s) or loose wire(s) at TDC1/TDC2 sensor 4-pin harness connector and PCM 31-pin harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
  2. Turn ignition switch off. Disconnect TDC1/TDC2 4-pin harness connector. Measure resistance between TDC1/TDC2 4-pin connector terminals No. 1 and 2, and between terminals No. 3 and 4. See Fig 1 . If 1850-2450 ohms are present, go to next step. If 1850-2450 ohms are not present, replace TDC1/TDC2 sensor. See IGNITION SYSTEM in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair as necessary.

  3. Check for continuity between ground and each TDC1/TDC2 4-pin connector terminal. If continuity to ground is present at any terminal, replace TDC1/TDC2 sensor. See IGNITION SYSTEM in REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article. If continuity to ground is not present at any terminal, go to next step.
  4. Reconnect TDC1/TDC2 4-pin harness connector. Disconnect PCM 31-pin harness connector. See Figure . Measure resistance between PCM 31-pin harness connector terminals No. 20 (Green wire or Light Green wire on MDX) and 21 (Red wire). Also measure resistance between PCM 31-pin harness connector terminals No. 29 (Yellow wire) and 30 (Black wire). If 1850-2450 ohms are present, go to next step. If 1850-2450 ohms are not present, repair open in appropriate wire(s).
  5. Check for continuity between ground and PCM 31-pin harness connector terminals No. 20 (Green wire or Light Green wire on MDX) and 29 (Yellow wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. If continuity is present, repair appropriate wire(s) for short to ground. If continuity is not present, substitute known-good PCM, then recheck. If symptom or indication goes away, replace original PCM.
