DTC P1361 Or P1362: Top Dead Center 1 (TDC1) Sensor Circuit, Or DTC P1366 Or P1367: Top Dead Center 2 (TDC2) Sensor Circuit

  1. Perform PCM reset procedure. See PCM RESET PROCEDURE/CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Start engine. If DTC P1361, P1362, P1366 or P1367 is set, go to next step. If DTCs P1361, P1362, P1366 and P1367 are not set, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. Check for poor connection(s) or loose wire(s) between TDC1/TDC2 sensor 4-pin harness connector and PCM 31-pin harness connector.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect TDC1/TDC2 4-pin connector. Measure resistance between TDC1/TDC2 4-pin connector terminal No. 1 (Light Green wire) on MDX or (Green wire) on 3.2CL and 3.2TL and terminal No. 2 (Red wire), and between terminals No. 3 (Yellow wire) and No. 4 (Black wire). If 1850-2450 ohms are present, go to next step. If 1850-2450 ohms are not present, replace TDC1/TDC2 sensor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair as necessary.
  3. Check continuity between ground and each TDC1/TDC2 4-pin connector terminal. If continuity to ground is present at any terminal, replace TDC1/TDC2 sensor. If continuity to ground is not present at any terminal, go to next step.
  4. Reconnect TDC1/TDC2 4-pin connector. Disconnect PCM 31-pin harness connector. Measure resistance between PCM 31-pin harness connector terminal No. 20 Light Green wire on MDX or (Green wire) on 3.2CL and 3.2TL and terminal No. 21 (Red wire). Also measure resistance between PCM 31-pin harness connector terminals No. 29 (Yellow wire) and No. 30 (Black wire). If 1850-2450 ohms are present, go to next step. If 1850-2450 ohms are not present, repair open in indicated wire(s).
  5. Check continuity between ground and PCM 31-pin harness connector terminals No. 20 (Light Green wire) on MDX or (Green wire) on 3.2CL and 3.2TL and terminal No. 29 (Yellow wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair as necessary. If continuity is present, repair indicated wire(s) for short to ground. If continuity is not present, substitute known-good PCM, then recheck. If symptom or indication goes away, replace original PCM.
