Removal & Installation Side-impact

Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable side-impact air bags. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Remove seat assembly. Remove seat back cover. Remove mounting nuts and side-impact air bag. See Fig 3. Repeat for other side.
To install, position new side-impact air bag assembly on seat back frame. Tighten air bag mounting nuts to 87 INCH lbs. (9.8 N.m). See Fig 3. Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Check system for proper operation. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
