Removal & Installation Passenger-side

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable passenger-side air bag. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Remove harness clamp. Remove air bag mounting nuts from bracket. See Figure. Carefully lift air bag assembly out of dashboard.
    NOTE: Air bag assembly lid is attached to dashboard with side pawls. To remove air bag assembly, cover lid and dashboard with a cloth, and pry carefully with a screwdriver.
  2. To install, position air bag assembly in dashboard. Tighten air bag mounting nuts to 87 INCH lbs. (9.8 N.m). See Figure. Install harness clamp. Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Check system for proper operation. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
