Hazard Warning Switch

On 3.2TL, remove instrument cluster assembly. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. On 3.5RL, remove center console front cover. On all models, remove hazard warning switch. Check for continuity between specified switch terminals with switch in ON and OFF position. See HAZARD WARNING SWITCH CONTINUITY  table. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . If continuity is not as specified, replace hazard warning switch. If continuity is as specified, check turn signal/hazard relay input. See TURN SIGNAL/HAZARD RELAY INPUT  under SYSTEM TESTS.

HAZARD WARNING SWITCH CONTINUITY

With Navigation System 1 & 2; 3 & 4; 4 & 5
Without Navigation System 1 & 5; 2 & 3; 3 & 4
(1) Illumination bulb is positioned between terminals No. 6 and 7 on 3.2TL; terminals No. 1 and 2 on 3.5RL with navigation system, and terminals No. 1 and 5 on 3.5RL without navigation system. Replace illumination bulb and retest before replacing switch.
(2) Connect positive probe of ohmmeter to terminal No. 3 on 3.5RL without navigation system and terminal No. 4 on 3.5RL with navigation system.
