Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Test

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove rear seat cushion and fuel tank access cover. Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit 3-pin connector. Relieve fuel pressure (3.2TL). Remove fuel gauge sending unit.
  2. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between fuel gauge sending unit terminal No. 1 (Black wire) and terminal No. 2 (Yellow/Blue wire on 3.2TL; Blue/Green wire on 3.5RL). See FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT RESISTANCE  table. If resistance is not as specified, replace fuel gauge sending unit.

(1) In empty position, float will be aligned with bottom of fuel tank. Full position will be at highest position from bottom of fuel tank.
