Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Test

  1. Place fuel gauge sending unit on test bench. Connect ohmmeter to fuel gauge sending unit terminals No. 1 and 2. See Fig 1 . As float is moved, resistance reading should change smoothly. See FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT RESISTANCE  table.
  2. Connect ohmmeter to fuel gauge sending unit terminals No. 1 and 4. Resistance should be infinite. If resistance readings are not as specified, replace sending unit.
