Removal & Installation (3.0CL)

  1. Remove strut brace covers and strut brace. Empty brake fluid from master cylinder. Unplug brake fluid level switch connectors. Disconnect brakelines from master cylinder. Remove master cylinder mounting nuts and master cylinder. See Fig 1. Disconnect vacuum hose from brake booster. Remove vacuum hose bracket.
  2. Disconnect engine wire harness connectors, then remove harness clamp. Remove evaporative (EVAP) control canister from bracket and move aside. Remove cotter pin and clevis pin from booster push rod. Remove booster mounting nuts and booster. Pull booster forward until clevis is clear of bulkhead. Remove booster. To install, reverse removal procedure after checking push rod clearance and length. After installation, check and adjust pedal height. Fill and bleed brake system.
