Instrument Cluster

  1. Deactivate air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Remove 4 screws from front (center) console assembly. Remove transmission shift lever knob (M/T only).
  2. Remove transfer shift lever knob. Disconnect seat heater switch connectors (if equipped). Disconnect power and winter switch (A/T only). Remove front console assembly.
  3. Remove 3 screws from lower cluster assembly. Disconnect cigarette lighter and ashtray illumination bulb connectors. Remove cigarette lighter bulb socket. Remove lower cluster assembly.
  4. Remove engine hood release handle. Remove 3 screws and clip from driver's side instrument panel lower cover. Detach 4 fasteners and remove instrument panel lower cover.
  5. Remove 5 screws from instrument cluster trim panel. Detach 4 clips at top of instrument cluster trim panel assembly. Disconnect switch connectors for instrument cluster trim panel assembly. Remove 4 screws and instrument cluster. Disconnect wiring harness from cluster. To install, reverse removal procedure.
