Rear Disc Brake Caliper: Disassembly

  1. Remove caliper. See REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER  . Remove the pad spring from the caliper. Carefully remove the piston and piston boot while rotating piston using Lock Nut Wrench (07916-6390001). See Figure .
  2. CAUTION: Take care not to damage the cylinder bore.
  3. Remove the circlip, washer, adjusting spring A, and adjusting nut from piston. See Figure . Remove piston seal. Adjust Brake Spring Compressor (07HAE-SG00100) as shown. See Figure . Install brake spring compressor between caliper body and spring guide. Compress adjusting spring B by turning shaft of brake spring compressor. Remove circlip using snap ring pliers. See Figure .
  4. Remove adjusting bolt. Remove spring cover, adjusting spring B, spacer, bearing A and cup from adjusting bolt. Remove the sleeve piston, and remove pin from the cam. Remove return spring, parking nut, lock washer, lever, cam and cam boot. See Figure .
