Description & Operation

WARNING: DO NOT use air pressure or a dry brush to clean brake assemblies. Avoid breathing brake dust. Use OSHA-approved vacuum cleaner for cleaning and collecting dust. Avoid contaminating brake pads and discs with brake fluid or grease.

Vehicles are equipped with front and rear disc brakes. Front brakes are dual piston, floating caliper type and vented brake rotor. Rear brakes are single piston, floating caliper type and vented brake rotor. Hydraulic system is controlled by a dual-circuit master cylinder and vacuum-controlled power brake unit. A cable operates parking brake at rear wheels. Parking brake is integrated with rear caliper. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
