A/T Gear Position Indicator

Shift to the Park position, and loosen the bolts.
Slide the switch in the direction of Park position within .08 in. (2 mm), until there is continuity between No. 8 and No. 11 terminals in the range of free play of the shift lever.

NOTE: If adjustment is not possible, check for damage to the shift lever detent and/or bracket. If there is no damage, replace the A/T gear position switch. You should be able to start the engine with the shift lever in Neutral position, within the range of free play.

Recheck for continuity between each of the terminals. See Fig 1.
