Tension Gauge Method

  1. Attach the belt tension gauge to the belt and measure the tension of the belt.
  2. Adjust belt to specifications. See POWER STEERING BELT ADJUSTMENT SPECIFICATIONS - TENSION GAUGE METHOD  .
  3. Loosen the special bolts and turn the adjusting bolt to get proper tension, then retighten the special bolts.
  4. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel from lock-to-lock several times, then recheck the belt tension.
