Temperature Gauge Test
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect Yellow/Green wire from sending unit. Ground sending unit wire using a jumper wire. Turn ignition on. Gauge needle should start moving toward "H" mark on gauge. Ensure to turn ignition off within 2 seconds, or before gauge needle reaches "H" mark. Failure to turn ignition off before needle reaches "H" mark may damage temperature gauge.
- If temperature gauge needle does not move, check for blown 10-amp fuse No. 23 in the dash fuse box. Check for open circuit in Yellow or Yellow/Green wires. Replace temperature gauge if fuse and wiring are okay. Check sending unit if gauge tested okay in step 1).
