Fuel Gauge: Legend

  1. Remove access cover in luggage compartment area. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect 3-pin connector from sending unit. Connect a jumper wire between Yellow/White and Black wire terminals. Turn ignition on. Ensure pointer starts to move toward "F" mark on gauge.
    CAUTION: Turn ignition off within 5 seconds, before gauge pointer reaches "F" mark. Failure to turn ignition off before pointer reaches "F" mark may cause damage to fuel gauge.
  2. If fuel gauge pointer does not move, check for blown No. 13 (10 amp) fuse. Check for an open circuit in Yellow, Yellow/White and Black wires. Check for poor ground. Replace fuel gauge if fuse and wiring check okay. Check sending unit if gauge checked okay in step 1).
