Coolant Temperature Gauge: Legend

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Yellow/Green wire from sending unit. Ground sending unit wire using a jumper wire. Turn ignition on. Ensure pointer starts to move toward "H" mark on gauge.
    CAUTION: Turn ignition off within 2 seconds, before gauge pointer reaches "H" mark. Failure to turn ignition off before pointer reaches "H" mark may cause damage to temperature gauge.
  2. If temperature gauge pointer does not move, check for blown No. 13 (10 amp) fuse. Check for an open circuit in Yellow and Yellow/Green wires. Replace temperature gauge if fuse and wiring check okay. Check sending unit if gauge checked okay in step 1).
