Drive Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair
ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT TENSIONER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 2.5L
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See Lifting.
NOTE:The accessory drive belt tensioner must be replaced as a complete unit.
2. Remove the pin-type retainer, 5 bolts and the RH splash shield.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm {0.9 kgf-m, 80 in-lbf}.
3. Using the hex feature, rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise and remove the accessory drive belt from the coolant pump pulley.
NOTE:The accessory drive belt tensioner must be replaced as a complete unit.
4. Remove the 2 bolts and the accessory drive belt tensioner.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm {2.5 kgf-m, 18 ft-lbf}.
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
