Pinpoint Test 4: DTCs C1148, C1158, C1229, C1233, C1234 and C1237 Wheel Speed Sensor Coherency Fault/Signal Incorrect

PINPOINT TEST 4: DTCS C1148, C1158, C1229, C1233, C1234 AND C1237 WHEEL SPEED SENSOR COHERENCY FAULT/SIGNAL INCORRECT

Normal Operation
The wheel speed sensor and the wheel speed sensor ring generate a signal that is sent to the anti-lock brake system (ABS) module. The wheel speed sensor circuitry connects to the ABS module connector through 2 wires and a connector at each wheel speed sensor. When the ignition is turned to the RUN position, the ABS module carries out a self-test by sending a reference voltage through the wheel speed sensors and their circuitry to determine if they are functional.

Possible Causes
^ Circuit open
^ Circuit shorted
^ Wheel speed sensor ring
^ Wheel speed sensor
^ ABS module

Caution:
^ Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.
