Pinpoint Test 4: DTC B106A - Pressure Sensor Range Bit Incorrect State
PINPOINT TEST 4: DTC B106A - PRESSURE SENSOR RANGE BIT INCORRECT STATENormal Operation
If there is a fault in the TPMS system, such as a damaged sensor or module, DTCs are set in the SJB, the TPMS indicator will illuminate and the message center (if equipped) will display the appropriate message. This DTC can be set if a new SJB is installed and not configured correctly.
Each tire pressure sensor transmits a specific radio frequency to the SJB approximately every 60 seconds when the vehicle speed exceeds 32 km/h (20 mph).
This DTC may be encountered if a high-pressure sensor (designed for trucks with much higher tire pressures and molded in green plastic) was installed at the assembly plant. The SJB will only allow a low-pressure sensor (molded in blue plastic) to be trained -using the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensor training procedure.
Possible Causes
^ Tire pressure sensor(s)
^ Incorrect tire pressure sensor(s) installed
^ SJB
